Hello world, Goodbye TIY

This week marks the end of an era, and begins the unsteady journey into the outer boundaries of my comfort zone as I venture into the uncharted territories of the job search that has been foisted upon me.

As some of you may know, The Iron Yard announced this week that it will be closing its doors, so come October it will be time for me to close the Campus Director chapter of my life and move on to bigger, better things. It’s hard to face these facts, but I have a sneaking suspicion that something better is out there and will help propel me to the next level in my career.

This has admittedly been one of the hardest weeks I’ve ever experienced in my career to date. I’ve worked jobs I’ve hated, but I’ve never worked a job I’ve loved as much as this one, and especially haven’t been forced to leave one that I love this much. This week was filled with hardship, leadership challenges, frustration, anger, and sadness, but more importantly was also filled with kindness, compassion, leadership successes, happiness, joy, nostalgia, and lots of laughter and gratitude.

I cannot stop time from marching forward, nor stop the forces that move it along, so rather than resist I will welcome this challenge with open arms and look forward to what the future has in store for me. If you’re willing to help, I could use a hand.

Let’s get to work.
